Mexico, a market in continuous growth

Leading Spanish-speaking country considered the 14th world economy and 2nd in Latin America. The restaurant industry has 541,854 establishments where 50.63% are concentrated in 7 states: Mexico City, Estado de Mexico, Veracruz, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Jalisco and Puebla.

A growing tourism industry; in 2016 had an increase of 8.9% reaching 35 million tourists.

The total number of hotels nationwide is 20,038 establishments with a total of 736,512 rooms.

The tourism GDP registered a growth rate of 3.6% in 2015 compared to the previous year, a figure that exceeds the total growth of the economy, which only increased 2.5%. During 2015, the tourism sector generated 2.3 million jobs, representing 5.8% of the total nationwide.

In 2016, 9 Mexican restaurants were considered among the 50 best on the famous list “Latin America’s 50 Best”, while for the list of “50 Best Restaurants” worldwide, 2 Mexican chefs stand out: Jorge Vallejo de Quintonil and Enrique Olvera with Pujol and Cosme

Mexico, considered one of the economic powers in Latin America, offers a stable economy that has a regular growth with an annual average growth rate + 3% during the last 20 years.

The Mexican hotel and restaurant market offers the industry suppliers great opportunities for development.
